Meet Alex Fahmy: The Social Media Expert Behind Some of Your Favorite Athletes

Sometimes our childhood experiences influence our growth and development both personally and professionally. This was the case for Alex Fahmy who grew up a big football and basketball fan. As Fahmy got older, he would reach out to athletes via social media to try and offer social media maintenance, so the players could focus on playing – which was his newfound passion.

“To start out, I offered social media maintenance to athletes I thought could use the help, in exchange for them to introduce me to one of their teammates or another professional athlete they knew. By doing this, I was able to slowly build a business, and start charging for my social media marketing services that offered them paid opportunities such as partnerships, sports camps, commercial shoots, endorsement deals, and autograph signings. I can’t share everyone I work with, but I have built great working relationships with athletes, such as NFL Hall of Famer Ed Reed, NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champion and pioneer of “The Shot” Kris Jenkins, the MVP of Ohio State’s National Champion Football Team, Evan Spencer, and his college teammate, Braxton Miller,” Alex recounts.

Now, Alex has made this his life and runs social media accounts for former and current professional athletes. However, Alex is not your average social media expert. What makes him unique is that he has all sides of the experience. As a former athlete, a content creator point of view, and the point of view of a fan, the combination of these perspectives has made Alex more equipped to know what fans like.

“What makes me unique is that I always put myself in the fan’s shoes first to provide them the experience they are looking for when they meet their favorite player. With that in mind, it has been extremely rewarding to hear the amazing experiences fans felt when attending my events,” Alex states.

For Alex, mindset has always been a huge part of his success story. Having a good mindset is key to running a good business operation, and Alex has mastered this.

“Mindset is everything. You have to be relentless. I always say not to be surprised by the results if you’re putting the work in. And I credit Kobe Bryant’s ‘Mamba Mentality’ to shape how I goal-set, how I prepare, and how I conduct myself. When you start a business, oftentimes people expect results right away. That is just not the case. You need to put the time and effort into studying what the greats have done, then the results will come. Don’t let social media rush you,” Alex remarks.

Alex’s advice for those who want to follow in his footsteps is to never be afraid to ask questions:

“My advice is never be afraid to ask questions or ask for help. I always say, “success leaves clues.” What you are trying to achieve, there’s a good chance it’s been done before. Use your resources, use your network, and be a sponge to knowledge and information so you are able to grow and avoid making mistakes others have.”

Now, Alex Fahmy has turned his attention to educating athletes and rap artists on the impact NFT’s and Web3 will have on the sports and music industries.
